Some Things Remain The Same

While relaxing during a very enjoyable weekend with BC Jr., his lovely wife and relatively new baby, BC Jr. and I stumbled across the you tube Donk debate and managed to gut out a few minutes from time to time during commercial breaks at what we were watching(plus a little actually). Some things remain the same. Here's one and it is rarely pointed out. Hitlery still doesn't answer the questions. She still just rambles on in lala land. Surprised? I don't think so. It's been that way for a long long time.

Just an observation.

Donk Candidates Cater To Left

At least that what this article says according to the Democratic Leadership Council.

“Presidents are elected in the middle and they are elected by being bigger than
their party. Neither parties’ activists alone can elect somebody president,”
From said in a telephone interview from his Washington office. “Democrats have a
long history of nominating people, including people who have lost badly. The
challenge for Democrats is to nominate somebody who can win the election.”

Ol' BC has yet to see that person among the eight running for the Donks' nomination. At least out of that bunch one would think that over time the American populace would wake up.

Not only that. It goes on to say...

The DLC would like to help the Democratic candidates, but none are listening.
While no Democratic presidential hopeful wants to be associated with the
centrist group, most of the candidates will be in Chicago on Aug. 4 to attend a
convention of liberal bloggers.
“They are looking only at the liberal
activists in Iowa,” From said of the candidates.

This isn't anything we haven't known for a long long time.

Just a thought.

Afghan Governor Canned

For talking. Yep, for talking. Abdul Sattar Murad made the mistake of pointing out the obvious, however you can't do such things in most countries. Here's one that gives a pretty balanced opinion.

Living Wage - Maryland Style

They've done it. They've enacted a statewide "living wage" law for the state of Maryland. Of course, while they blow their collective trumpets, it doesn't apply to everyone. There are those exceptions again. See here for more details.

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has signed the nation's first statewide "living
wage" law, a measure that requires state contractors to pay workers $11.30 an
hour in Baltimore and other areas where it is more expensive to live and at
least $8.50 in the rest of the state.

Looks like city folk are worth a little more in Maryland.

Just an observation.

Muslim Prayer In Public School

Yes, you got that right. Here you can read an account. In San Diego, they allow time after lunch (during what would normally be class time) for Muslims to pray.

After subbing at Carver, the teacher claimed that religious indoctrination was
taking place and said that a school aide had led Muslim students in prayer.

It was pointed out in one television account discussing the issue that the class was segregated both by sex (female only) and religion. There goes another one. Not only has religion in public schools become a no no by even being mentioned, let alone being practiced, what about all the "benefits" of diversity we keep hearing about? I've asked a few for a list of those "benefits", but so far I've come up empty from the pro diversity folks. Guess they just like to sound informed.

OK, here's my question. When will the ACLU file suit to stop this practice?

Just a thought.

Sentence commuted

For all the wrath heaped upon Dubya by the Donks for commuting Scooter Libby's sentence, one may wish to take a glance at President Clinton's pardons of January 2001 to gain a little perspective. Keep in mind that Libby wasn't pardoned. He just had his jail time eliminated. He is still considered guilty and paid his quarter million dollar fine, lost his law license and suffers humiliation in the press daily.

Clinton's pardon of drug smugglers, bank robbers, car thieves, perpetrators of bank fraud and issuing phony checks, etc. makes Bush look a little like a sissy when it comes to trying to screw this country.

Just an observation.

Independence Day

Ace has a Declaration post. Isn't it ironic that as you read the document, how our government has become so much of what our founding fathers were fleeing from? Cumbersome, taxing, infringing government is what England provided.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

and...

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

I see the irony each Fourth of July. It seems not many do anymore. When most of us realize what has happened, it may be too late.

Just a thought.
